PEX-b Cross Linked Pipes & PPSU Fittings
The New PEX-b Pipes

PEX polyethylene pipes are produced using peroxide free radicals by heating and crosslinking straight-chain polymer and gradually increasing the concentration of linking bands between chains (the cross-linking process), which structurally changes high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and produces PEX-b pipes.

Cross-linked polyethylene or PEX/XLPE is the first polymer type to be used in producing consolidation pipes. It is polyethylene with the longitudinal molecular structure crosslinked chemically (radiation) to produce a polymer with better heat and pressure resistance.

PEX Pipe Applications

  • Hot and cold plumbing in buildings
  • Creating underfloor heating systems in office, commercial, educational, and health buildings
  • Emergency water supply and fire suppression systems in industrial, office, and other buildings
  • Grass frost prevention systems in sports fields and greenhouses with underfloor heating
  • Anti-frost sidewalk and street heating systems
  • Creating a pleasant environment using heating systems and home and office package systems

These pipes are highly resistant to pressure, shock, and heat and they are a suitable alternative to traditional piping systems due to their flexibility. The use of fewer fittings instead of advanced manifold pipes significantly fast-tracks operation and reduces costs.

These pipes were produced using the latest technology and the efforts of Mazandaran province authorities, especially the head and deputies of industrial and trade offices and others in industrial parks and the provincial government, and selected and purchased by the Polirood Ettesal research and production department. They were cleared by company specialists for installation in February 2015, and after the technical specifications of PEX pipes produced by Polirood Ettesal were tested and approved, they are offered in the following two models with the necessary fittings:

1.Various 16 to 32 mm three-layer PEX-b underfloor heating pipes with EVOH oxygen barrier coating. This pipe is currently used in European countries and the United States as a modern product with many advantages, including durability, safety, easy installation, excellent heat and frost resistance, and flexibility for use in underfloor heating systems. This product’s thermodynamic results and heat transfer in underfloor heating systems is a testament to its uniqueness.

Uninterrupted Peace and Comfort with Polirood Ettesal PEX Pipes and Advanced PPSU Fittings

1.2. Another important advantage of these pipes is annual energy savings of 6 to 12% compared to the most economical heating systems. Furthermore, the underfloor heating system’s max water temperature (45 °C) is lower than radiators (average 80 °C). Polirood Ettesal currently offers this product to the market due to its high pipe heat transfer coefficient for underfloor cooling.

2.Various cold and hot water pipes in residential and commercial buildings with considerably better characteristics than any cold or hot plumbing system currently available

2.1. Using the special cross-link molecular structure with a high continuity percentage in compliance with international standards

2.2. Suitable for transferring hot and cold water (up to 85 °C)

2.3. Smart structure for easy and low-cost fitting installation

2.4. No need for angled fittings due to pipe flexibility

2.5. Very high resistance to sedimentation and corrosion

2.6. Very low pressure drop along the pipe due to smooth internal surface

2.7. Over 50 years of service life

3.These products include Tee fittings, trap fittings, Tee converter, and others produced in various sizes with the strongest engineered PPSU. Among the most important features of Polirood Ettesal’s PEX-b pipes and fittings is their full compliance with all Iranian standards (ISIRI-13205 part 1-5) with all pipe and fitting requirements met in practical conditions (Polirood Ettesal pipes and fittings are fully compliant with Iranian standards and ISO15875 sections 1-5, and have passed all standard tests). The pipes and fittings match and fit as they are manufactured in the same factory. Regarding the effect of pipe and fitting materials on drinking water, these products are complaint with the ISIRI-7171 standard of Iran.

In keeping with the development its production lines and entry into the construction sector, after offering polyethylene wastewater pipes and fittings, the Polirood research and production department has purchased, installed, and launched a European PEX production line and produced the relevant fitting molds to be able to supply the market in the highest possible standards licensed from European manufacturers.

The Polirood Ettesal research and production department offers the following full portfolio of PEX fittings:

A. PPSU Fittings: With the advent of engineering polymers in the market and give the significant thermal resistance of advanced PPSU engineering polymer (polyphenylsulfone), the Polirood Ettesal research and production department created the molds for advanced PPSU fittings and produced these fittings in compliance with national and international standards. Therefore, given their excellent endurance and pressure and thermal resistance (up to 150 °C), these fittings are the first choice of customers and design engineers. Full specifications are presented in the Annex.

B. Brass Fittings: Given the manufacturing constraints of threaded fittings and various geometric shapes, including wall trap and Tee fittings, these fittings use a special durable brass alloy with excellent mechanical strength. The following types of fittings are available.
